Our Story

Savor the Flavors of Family Recipes & Traditions at Columbia, MO’s The Old Neighborhood Cafe

We’re the Leitzas. You may have heard of us from Cooper’s Landing or The Station House at Katfish Katy’s. If you have, you know how much love and effort we put into our cooking. It is our pride and joy. If you haven’t heard of us, let us introduce ourselves. We come from Chicago originally, so naturally, we are loud and proud and we love with all we have. We work hard and play harder. We grow together, we laugh together, we fight together, and we share milestones together. Through it all, you can always find us in a kitchen somewhere, cooking together. 

We know everyone has their own experience and memories with food and that is why we started The Old Neighborhood Cafe. We want to share a meal, a drink, and reminisce about all the happiness that has come in our lifetimes surrounding food and family. After all, food and love are the only constants we have. 

Our roots run deep when it comes to food and hanging out in the kitchen with Grandma, who you would never say “no” to when she offered you a third helping of dinner. In other words, she would want us to remind everyone, “Mangia E Statti Zitto!”
